  The following books may prove to be helpful in giving additional advice regarding signing with your baby. There are also handy, pocket sized, books full of useful signs that you can carry with you for everyday use.

Auslan Children’s Picture dictionary (Volume 1) - by Bilby Publishing Published by Bilby Publishing in 2007 This fantastic Children’s Dictionary contains over 260 signs with clipart throughout. Divided into handy sections it is ideal to use as a reference or as a picture book with your baby.

Tiny Hands – Australian Sign Language for Babies to Toddlers. Published by Aileen Ryan – 2005 This pocket sized book is ideal for carrying with you and contains over 230 Auslan signs. It also has plenty of helpful hints. (Currently out of print)

Australian Baby Hands - by Jackie Durnin Published by Baby Hands Pty Ltd 2005 This book is endorsed by Deaf Children Australia. It has an excellent information section and a good selection of introductory signs for babies – using Auslan throughout.

Australian Baby Hands Flash Cards - by Jackie Durnin Published by Baby Hands Pty Ltd 2006 The pocket sized version of Australian Baby Hands – it has helpful hints and clear pictures of the introductory signs.

Trainers Auslan Reference – Bilby Publishing & Consulting Published by Bilby Publishing & Consulting 2006 Not for the faint hearted! This dictionary is a printed version of the Auslan database behind Sign With Me (CD Rom), www.SignSwap.com.au and www.Auslan.net It includes worksheets, song sheets and is packed with teaching resources and suggestions.

Joseph Garcia’s Complete Guide to Baby Signing – Joseph Garcia Published by Match Media Publishing 2005 This book has an amazing amount of information and is easy and fun to read. It gives lots of excellent ideas to help make signing with your baby easy and successful. It uses British Sign Language which does differ slightly from Auslan, but if used in conjunction with an Auslan sign book it would be an invaluable resource.
